St. Patty's Table Topper

Just another small finish for the shop - I made another square table topper similar to the Valentine's Day one. This one is a mix of scrappy green prints from Riley Blake, Moda, and Clothworks lines. I practiced my orange-peel quilting again, but it hardly shows up on this one.

Don't forget the four-leaf clover for good luck!

Outer Space Baby Boy Quilt

My mom made this quilt top last October and I just got it quilted and bound. The pattern is fairly simple: it's composed of large squares alternating with snowball blocks. As always, she made an adorable applique for the back of the quilt that's sure to excite any outer-space-loving child.

Valentine's Day Table Topper

I'm in the mode. I was feeling a little burnt out of sewing going in to the holidays, but with the start of the new year, I've been ready to get quilting again.
This little 21-inch square table topper was made with my Marmalade scraps. It's simple and cheery.

I decided to give orange-peel quilting another shot, since the quilt top is a nice grid of 4-inch squares.

Elephant Splash Baby Boy Quilt

I recently finished this fun little baby boy quilt in adorable gray and aqua elephant prints. Soft gray flannel went on the back and a cute bias stripe on the binding. The pattern is fairly simple: just squares and quarter-square triangles. I love how it looks like both stars and diamonds depending on which fabrics you focus on.

Valentine's Day Bunting Table Runner

Since I finished up two WIP's last week, I pulled out some new fabric yesterday and started cutting. I wanted to make a Valentine's table runner for the shop and thought throwing a little "xox" bunting applique on it would make it interesting. This Marmalade fabric is adorable and has me in the mood for February already.

The bunting and letters are raw-edge appliqued with fusible web and machine top-stitched in place. It's in the shop!

New Year's Finish

What better way is there to start the new year than finishing off a quilt! Do you remember my husband's black and white "man quilt" that I started almost three years ago? Well, it's finally finished. I decided to quilt it myself, but because of it's size and the fluffy fabric on the back, it was tough. Like I-want-to-just-throw-this-whole-thing-in-the-trash tough. I stuck it out, though, and now I'm so glad to have it draped over my couch.

This is straight binding made with 2 1/4 inch strips. It's machine sewn down, too. I had to salvage my sanity.
